New Delhi, October 14: The Indian Railways has decided to run a special Rajdhani train between Delhi-Mumbai. From October 16, the train will start without flexi fare scheme and will take less than 2 hours to reach.
“It will save time of the passengers. It will enable the passengers to avoid peak-hours of traffic. Passengers will not need to get freshen up in the train enabling them to have cozy mornings. Passengers can attend offices as per their routine.
“This train will be introduced on experimental basis for three months from October to January to gauge the response of the travelling public to a concept of flat increase in fare against existing flexi-fare, all berths being available for booking on the date of opening of ARP, facility for optional catering and early arrival into Mumbai/Delhi before rush hours,” Railways said.
However, the special Rajdhani with lower price train will save around two hours in journey time in comparison to existing Mumbai Rajdhani. Indian Railways are already running two Rajdhanis and more than 30 mail/exp trains between Delhi and Mumbai.
