Chhattisgarh Women and Child Development Minister Ramsheela Sahu took decision in this regard, while chairing a meeting of the governing body of Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh. The meeting reviewed the various projects and facilities provided to women members.
The meeting passed a resolution reducing the loans' interest rates on various schemes from the current six-and-half per cent rate to the five per cent rate. Several important decisions were taken to encourage hard-working self-help groups. The ceiling was increased from the present Rs Seventy thousand to Rs One lakh.
Also, an amount of Rs 1 crore four lakh loans had been distributed to about 279 women's self-help groups in the current fiscal 2017-2018 till September.
The initiative will allow the women and SHGs to easily avail the loan facility for self-employment and thereby become self-dependent, The Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh is operated by state's women and child development department to disburse easy term loans to women and SHGs.
