Washington, October 31: The latest report from UN weather agency is highly alarming as it shows Carbon dioxide (C02) level surged at “record-breaking speed” in last year. The report indicates that carbon dioxide concentrations reached 403.3 parts per million in 2016, up from 400 ppm in 2015. This increase is a record one and an exceptional growth.
Along with Carbon dioxide, other greenhouse gases are also rapidly increasing. These gases can together lead to disasters in both fields like ecological and economic. Several greenhouse factors like population growth intensified agricultural practices, increases in land use and deforestation, industrialization and associated energy use from fossil fuel sources have all contributed to increases in concentrations of greenhouse gases.
