Central America struck by tropical storm NATE; killed 22 people

Managua, October 6: The Central America is repeatedly struck by NATE which is a newly formed tropical storm. The storm has killed at least 22 people as the heavy rain has hit the region and slowly moving towards Mexico’s Caribbean resorts and the US Gulf Coast.

 

According to the local media, Vice President of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo said that at least 11 people died while emergency officials of Costa Rica and Honduras stated that eight and three people were killed respectively due to Hurricane NATE.

 

While the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said that NATE could produce as much as 51 centimeters rain in some areas of Nicaragua. It will gain strength and become a category 1 hurricane before it makes landfall on the southern coast of the United States on Sunday.

The local weather forecast agency has issued a warning that NATE Tropical storm will move towards the coast of Quintana Roo on Friday night with strong rain and winds over 45 MPH.
