New Delhi, November 11: To conduct dopes tests on Indian cricketers, the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has no authority said the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Earlier, Indian Sports Ministry has permitted National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) to conduct dope tests on Indian cricketers and implement the rules of World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The Ministry has urged for BCCI's co-operation.

In a letter written to NADA Chief Navin Agarwal by the BCCI CEO Rahul Johri on 8th November stated that since the board is not a National Sports Federation (NSF), there is no requirement for NADA to test its cricketers and its present anti-doping system is vigorous enough.

Johri also responded to the sports secretary who had approached the BCCI in October to cooperate with NADA and claimed that the BCCI is compliant with the WADA Code. Since BCCI is an autonomous body affiliated to the International Cricket Council (ICC), it is only required to operate within the rules and regulations of the ICC said, Johri.
