Germany, France pledge to counter global warming beyond 2020

Boon, November 16: For the Paris climate agreement the leaders of Germany and France assured their support. To counter the global warming beyond 2020, the French President Emanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel baptized all members to steadily implement the Paris accord.

 

Macron promised to put an extreme effort into the deal. He said that countries should cooperate so that the Paris agreement should be implemented. He further added that there is still a lot of work to do and the adopting the agreement two years ago was just the beginning. 

 
 
 
 

Financial assistance from developed countries is essential to minimize damage by abnormal weather in developing countries, said the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the meeting. He further added that to work out rules of the Paris agreement, More than 190 countries and territories have been negotiating.


Earlier, US President Donald Trump had withdrawn his country from the agreement also the US decided that it will hold back the contributions of over 2.3 million US dollars for the UN’s scientific expert panel.
