108 ambulance service started in Jharkhand; to reach within 25 minutes in urban areas

Ranchi, November 16: On the occasion of the foundation day, Health Minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi flagged off the 33 ambulances in the RCH campus at Namkum. 329 ambulances have to be deployed throughout the state. Out of these, 289 ambulances will have basic life support and 40 ambulances with Advanced Life support.

 

This service is being started from Ranchi, East Singbhum, Palamu, and Garhwa. The Health Minister said that this service will prove to be the milestone for the people of Jharkhand. Especially the people of the poor section will get more benefit.

He said that an ambulance facility will be provided in the population of one lakh. Whenever any needy will call 108 toll-free number, the call center will provide an ambulance to that person's house. He further added that till December, the service of 329 ambulances will be started throughout the state.

Additional Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathi said that after receiving the call from the call center the information related to the call will be given to the nearest ambulance within 240 seconds. He said that the ambulance will reach within 25 minutes in urban areas, 40 minutes in semi-urban areas and 55 minutes in the rural area.

On the foundation day of Jharkhand, President Ramnath Kovind inaugurated the scheme amounted Rs.3455.89 crore from the Morhabaadi ground. To link women with self-employment, the Johar scheme has been launched at a large scale. The CM health insurance scheme was started. The benefits of this scheme will now be available to 57 lakh families. 108 ambulance services have also been started. That means by dialing 108 the ambulance will reach home. The state government also laid the foundation for two flyovers and two smart roads for the city of Ranchi.
