Darjeeling, November 21: On the very same day Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has started her North Bengal visit, the new emerging alley of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha on Monday suspended two prime faces of the party, Bimal Gurung and Roshan Giri for six months. As expectedly Gurung has been replaced with Binay Tamang.
"The central committee has decided to suspend Bimal Gurung, Roshan Giri, Asha Gurung from the party for six months for failing to discharge their responsibilities and remaining out of the district for six months," Binay Tamang said.
The central committee members of Morcha also decreased gradually. Monday’s meeting was attended by 37 members. Binay Tamang and Anit Thapa have been nominated as the president and the general secretary, respectively. The changes will be informed to Election Commission soon.
On the other hand, Roshan Giri has denied such suspension. According to him, Tamang was already suspended from the party. Hence he does not have any right to anyone. "The suspension is illegal," said Giri. There are high chances that the matter will be dragged down to court.
