Mumbai, November 28: If you want to experience the feeling of a houseboat shoring on backwaters of Kerala. Then this will experienced in Mumbai soon as Government of Maharashtra is planning to introduce Houseboats on the coasts of Maharashtra. This idea can be implemented from the next month.

“The Maharashtra government is planning to transform the Marve-Manori-Gorai coastline in such a way that it resembles the backwaters of Kerala. The plan of the state government is to boost tourism in Mumbai” says Education and guardian Minister of Maharashtra Vinod Tawde.

The Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB) has revealed that what normally takes an hour by road to cover; the 37-km-distance between these places will now be reduced to just 10 minutes when the jetty service is operational.

The Maharashtra Government is planning to have these Ro-Ro ferries in four routes of Mumbai – Borivli to Gorai, Bhayander to Vasai, Versova and Naringin in Virar to Kharwadashri, Tembhi Kodave in Palghar, with a target of May 2018 for the operations to begin.
