Darjeeling, December 20: While picturesque place always attracts a large group of tourists, there is another group who opt for adventurous places. As Gorkhaland Territorial Administration is highly focusing on Teesta Rangeet Tourism Festival to boost tourism in Darjeeling and Kalimpong again, GTA is also planning for adventure tourism to attract more tourists.
Interesting sports including Mountain bikes, rock climbing, paragliding, Zorbing balls will be available for adventures souls. Even during the carnival tourists will get free mountain bike rides if they want to explore the hill area. Local residents will also take part in a bike rally. One famous company will offer a 20 percent discount for paragliding during the festival. Even organizers will put up stalls on adventure tourism to highlight the facilities and will also promote white-water rafting.
With a bonus to adventure sports, tourists will get to see two most important heritages of Darjeeling, Toy Trains, and Land Rovers. Tourists who have not yet taken the Land Rover ride will be given one free ride for a certain distance.
The queen of hills Darjeeling went through a turmoil period gorkhaland agitation losing its charm as a great tourism hub. During the crisis tourists suffered along with local residents and witnessed violent outrage which has badly hit the main industry of the hill area, Darjeeling. Now, Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) is putting highest efforts to again revive tourism in the area.
