New Delhi, December 26: Watch out! Do not believe in emails on verification of Aadhaar card. While linking this to receive various services they provide an OTP (One Time Password) on the registered mobile number. And now the news of receiving Aadhaar OTP through emails has created havoc in the country. The UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has issued a statement stating that they do not provide OTP via email.

The country is busy linking their 12 digit number to all the various sections to enjoy the various benefits they will receive from it. To enjoy these benefits the Aadhaar is linked and is verified only by the registered mobile number of the person. However, there are cases where fake email ids are approaching the people proving them with OTP number and various other details.

Receiving complaints from the people regarding emails coming to them for verification is doing the rounds. To stop this UIDAI has informed the people that they do not send any OTP to people via emails. The purpose is to serve authentication which is not mentioned in the fake emails. They do not provide verification information of any resident services through email. Those are fake emails and people should check the email address before believing these rumours.

The UIDAI an agency under Aadhaar has offered people to share their details via associated mobile number to receive the benefits of the required services and they would get the verification done. Thus it is also the people who need to be attentive while providing any details.
