CM Shivraj promises road connectivity to every part of MP by 2018

Bhopal, December 8: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that all villages in the state will have road connectivity by 2018. For this an integrated work plan for all road construction schemes should be made.

The Chief Minister was taking a review meeting of Public Works Department on Thursday. Chouhan issued instructions during the meeting to make time-bound programme for repair of all roads. Road repair work in rural areas should be taken up on priority on the basis of the proposals by MLAs.

“Tender process of 380 bridges approved in state should be completed and work should begin soon. Proposals in Centre’s Bharat Mala Project should be sent from state. This project should include proposals to connect tourist and religious sites of the state. Works of approved road should be completed before rainy season,” CM orders to Public Works Department.

It was told at the meeting that 1,750 km national highway is in good condition in the state and work of 2,478 km national highway is in progress. About 10 thousand 45 kilometres state highways of the state are developed and in good condition and work of 1250 kilometre state highways is in progress.

Also, proposals of new projects in the recently announced 5400 kilometre new main district road in state have been made. About 16190 km other district and rural roads under Public Works Department are in good condition and work of 5205 km is in progress.
