Bhopal, September 12: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has issued instructions that special drive should be conducted by all agricultural departments to double farmers' income for next five years.
Chouhan said that all departments concerned should make serious efforts, following different and innovative steps and give maximum efforts. Farmers' income can be increased by planned efforts.
He further directed that the top officials to launch a campaign to improve quality of animal as well as efforts should be made to increase fishermen's income by increasing fishery production in state. “Planned efforts should be made for sericulture production. It should be ensured that no shortage of electricity remains for irrigation”, he added.
Similarly, 22 lakh hectare irrigation capacities will be developed through micro irrigation. Madhya Pradesh is at the third position after Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan in milk production. Special efforts are being made for livestock development.
Moreover, Chief Minister Chouhan released five books published by agriculture department - Hundred decision in hundred days, price difference scheme, success story of intermediate crops, success story of organic farming and block level atlas of Gaun-Saksham Tatv.
