Get Nostalgic! Visit National Rail Museum and experience the age old Railway’s heritage

New Delhi, January 10: National Rail Museum has once again open gates for visitors to encourage the Indian Railways rich heritage. One of the most interesting attractions at the museum is the 108 year old monorail.


 

It goes back to the history when this monorail was used by the Maharaja of Patiala, Lt. Shri Bhupinder Singh. This monorail one of its kind heaved steam locomotives. The journey in this monorail is a unique experience. It has been started by the National Rail Museum on every Thursday.

The Museums focuses on enriching the Rail Hertitage of India as a source of fascination and generate interest about Railways in all. The Museum was inaugurated on 1st February, 1977 in Asia and has an interesting collection of history, romance, nostalgia, fun, leisure and entertainment.

Spreading over 10 acres it comprises an indoor gallery devoted to the display of various exhibits, models, records, photographs, coat of arms, documents etc. Around 100 real size exhibits display the glory of the bygone era. The Museum promises to take the visitors on an exciting journey into the Railway history and heritage and depict their contribution to the industrial and economic progress of the country.
