Jalpaiguri, January 2: With the rise of New Year, Bengal gets Nature Interpretation Centre, first one of its kind in the state. This is a part of West Bengal government’s initiative to attract more tourists in North Bengal. The wildlife tourism center is located in the periphery of famous Gorumara National Park, a famous habitation of Indian rhinoceros.

The new center will provide wildlife enthusiasts larger information on flora and fauna of Gorumara National Park which was not available earlier. Tourists had had to go back without answer of their queries regarding such information.

"Tourists visiting the centre can learn about the flora and fauna of Gorumara National Park. There are digital kiosks at the centre, along with models of different wild animals which will provide information about different species of trees, flowers and also about the wildlife which can be sighted at the park," state tourism minister Gautam Deb said.

The centre will have other facilities like digital kiosks with important information. Children interested in nature can learn about trees, herbs, shrubs, flowers and fruits and can gather information about various natural resources.
