Belagavi, January 3: Union Minister Shripad Yesso Naik, who represents the North Goa parliamentary segment expressed that Mahadayi water sharing dispute should not be used to settle the political scores. Speaking to the media, Naik advised neighboring states (Goa and Karnataka) to resolve the contentious matter with mutual understanding.

Expressing displeasure over the politicization of Mahadayi talks, the senior Goa BJP leader asserted that Mahadayi Water Dispute Tribunal will take the final call on the inter-state water sharing row but he also pitched for an amicable settlement in order to address the issue of water scarcity on a humanitarian basis. The AYUSH Minister underlined that the issue should have been solved long ago.
