The abbey was initially built on dry land; it was only after the oceans raised its tide level this beauty got such a mesmerizing look. Even now it stands 600 meters above the land. Climbing the abbey is not that easy as it consists of almost 900 steps. This place is visited by almost 3 million people each year.
