Washington, January 7: After a year of tension, conflict this year might be one of a talk. US President Donald Trump said he would like to have talk to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. He also said he expects a positive result out of upcoming South-North Korea talk.
The two leaders have a history of angry exchanges on twitter regarding North Korea’s nuclear program. Recently, Kim in his New Year speech said he has a nuclear button on his desk, to which Donald Trump replied he has even a bigger button.
Earlier the US showed skeptic attitude about North-South talk but Trump said, “Look, right now they’re talking Olympics. It’s a start, it’s big start. If I weren’t involved they wouldn’t be talking at all right now.” Recently, following Kim’s willingness to send a delegation to Winter Olympics, the two Koreas made a way for a diplomatic talk after 2 years.
“If something can come out of those talks, that would be a great thing for all of humanity, that would be a great thing for the world,” US President Trump said. Kim “knows I‘m not messing around. I‘m not messing around. Not even a little bit, not even one percent. He understands that” he said.
