'Khiladi boy' Akshay Kumar roped in to promote and create awareness on clean India

Mumbai, January 8: Cleanliness drive has become the most talked about concept nowadays. The initiative of Swachh Abhiyaan started back in the year 2014 has already seen the light of the day. However many attempts are made by the official authorities to create immense awareness among the public about the same.

 

Heading towards the ultimate mission, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has roped in Akshay Kumar as the brand ambassador of Swachh Survekshan 2018. This is a survey by the official authority to check if the awareness created by them has any impact on the people and how is the surrounding being kept by the residential living around.

The civic body stated that the actor agreed to their proposal of promoting cleanliness in Mumbai by the written request sent to him. He is ready to support for creating awareness on the importance of cleanliness in the metropolis. The actor is very active in social work. He started the martial arts defense training for girls for their safety and to generate a fight back attitude. He also donated money to the families of martyrs. The actor has also shown his generous gesture by donating money in cancer hospitals and many other such causes. Akshay Kumar also worked on social interest films, the latest being 'Toilet-Ek Prem Katha' which promoted Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.

The Swachh Survekshan this year commenced from January 4 and will run till March 10 by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs ranking urban and rural areas of the country on the basis of cleanliness.
