New Delhi, Oct 9: Amidst the speculations of a proposed alliance between AIADMK and BJP ahead of the 2019 general elections, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Monday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi here.

During this meeting, Palaniswami briefed Modi about the socio-political development in the coastal state. The Chief Minister urged Modi government to look into the matter of long pending demand of Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award for late Chief Minister J Jayalalitha and late DMK veteran Annadurai.

On this occasion, Palaniswami negated the reports of poll understanding with BJP. On reduction of fuel prices, Palaniswami maintained “We need funds to implement various welfare schemes in the state.”
