Karnataka by-poll: Huge setback for BJP as Ramanagara candidate L Chandrashekhar re-joins Congress

Bengaluru, Nov 1: Ahead of the crucial Karnataka by-elections, principal opposition party BJP has received a massive jolt in the form of Ramanagara assembly candidate L Chandrashekhar. 
 
The former Congressman who was fielded against the JD(S)-Congress candidate Anitha Kumaraswamy, wife of Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, has decided to re-join Congress. 

Addressing the media here, Chandrashekhar announced his move of quitting BJP. L Chandrashekhar is a son of veteran Congress leader and MLC CP Lingappa. According to media reports, Chandrashekhar was not happy with the internal fight. He was reportedly annoyed with the state BJP chief BS Yeddyurappa’s poll strategy for Ramanagara segment.

By-polls for three Lok Sabha seats which includes Shivamogga, Mandya and Ballari and two assembly segments Ramanagara and Jamakhandi are scheduled on 3rd November. Results will be declared on November 6.
