Maritime exercise INDRANavy18 concludes with a strong bondage of India-Russia friendship

Visakhapatnam, Dec 17: The sea phase of the bilateral Russian-Indian maritime exercise Indra Navy-2018, which involves Russia’s Pacific Fleet ships, starts in the Bay of Bengal 13th of December near the Indian port of Visakhapatnam.

 

 The Indian Navy was represented by the Ranvir guided missile destroyer, the Kadmatt, Kuthar and Khanjar corvettes and the Jyoti tanker.

 More than 10 naval ships and support vessels from both the countries, planes and helicopters of the Indian Navy and a helicopter from the Admiral Panteleyev will take part in the exercise.

During the Sea Phase of the exercise, 10 ships of the two navies operated together as a Composite Task Force. One submarine and several aircraft from #IndianNavy also participated in the exercise. The exercises conducted during the Sea Phase included VBSS drills, underway replenishment, Anti-Submarine Warfare manoeuvres and firing on aerial targets.

RuFN Ships Varyag, Admiral Panteleyev and Boris Butoma and IN Ships Ranvir, Satpura, Kadmatt, Kuthar, Khanjar and Jyoti sailed out from Visakhapatnam harbour to participate in joint exercises at sea, which include Anti-Submarine Warfare, Air Defence Drills, Surface Firings, Visit Board Search and Seizure operations and tactical procedures.
