Superstar Rajinikanth’s Petta to be presented in Kannada

Bengaluru, Dec 26: Taking a cue from the massive success of actor Yash starrer Kannada movie Kolar Goldfields, maker of Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming movie Petta, are likely to present Kannada dubbed version of Petta, along with Telugu and Hindi.

As quoted by Indian Express, after Ajith’s Vivegam which was released in Kannada as Commando earlier this year, Petta will be the second Tamil movie to be dubbed in Kannada.

Superstar Rajinikanth has a special connection with Bengaluru and even starred in several Kannada movies. The Kannada dubbed version of Petta will also hit the screen on Pongal. Kannada producers are generally opposed to the idea of dubbed version but after the unprecedented response to KGF, it seems that stake-holders are revisiting the stand.

On December 21, for the first time in the history of Kannada Cinema, Prashanth Neel’s Kolar Goldfield a gripping drama was released in multiple languages. Especially, the Kannada flick did fantastic business in the Hindi region and even outnumbered Shah Rukh Khan’s high budget movie zero.

Kolar Gold Fields is a period drama written and directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner Hombale films. Farhan Akhtar in collaboration with Ritesh Sidhwani and Anil Thadani’s AA films is presenting the Hindi version of the multilingual period drama.
