Digital India Program has rolled out major beneficiary reforms in healthcare services: J P Nadda

Canberra, February 19: India has contributed immensely and progressed by initiating reforms in the health sector through Digital India Program. Enlightening the masses about how Information and Communication Technology has made improvements in the healthcare sector and the use of digital technology has given this an added advantage Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare J P Nadda addressed this in the Global Digital Health Partnership Summit in Australia.

Making Digital Health Services a priority in the healthcare sector the Minister acknowledged the use of digital platform being quite user friendly with the people. He emphasized on the content of how digitalization has been beneficial to the masses and how it has improved health services in the country. This ultimately became beneficial for the people and also for the governance.

 

Reiterating the commitment of the government, the Health Minister said that their vision is to create integrated digital health platform and enable creation of electronic health record for 1.3 billion people of India. The aim is to enable hospitals and health service providers to do so by giving them free software systems and data storage facilities, and also use big data analytics to prioritize their interventions and become proactive in solving healthcare challenges of the citizen.

J P Nadda informed that the Health Ministry has rolled out large scale IT systems in different areas of healthcare ecosystem such as integrated health surveillance program, public health management, hospital information system, supply chain management, online services, tele-medicine, programme monitoring mHealth.

 

The Minister also said that the health initiatives jotted down by the health department has created a platform which has enabled the masses for quick access. The mHealth initiative has provided people with real-time data policy. This Hospital Information System has been implemented in the hospitals for automation of hospital process to ensure better efficiency and services to the people. The availability of services for public health services has started about e-health services, e-hospitals, e-Sushrut. Also the Health Minister discussed about the benefits given to the elderly people with provisions for access to quality and affordable health services.

 
Overall the health department of India has achieved great response as it is noted that around 76% of the people are satisfied with this services and their feedback keeps motivating the government to do something better for the country.
