Lagos, February 22: Nigerian Army has rescued approximately 80 school girls after being kidnapped by suspected Boko Haram attackers on Monday. State Official said the attackers raided their school in Northeast Nigeria.
"The Yobe state government has no credible information yet as to whether any of the schoolgirls were taken hostage by the terrorists," said Abdullahi Bego, an aide to Gov. Ibrahim Gaidam, in a statement.
These Boko Haram terrorists, who staunchly oppose western education, often attack girl students. In 2014, Boko Haram kidnapped nearly 300 schoolgirls. After a deal of prisoner exchange almost 200 girls got released but still, now 100 are missing.
