New Delhi, February 22: Brushing out all the confusion and placing a proper overview of the procedure for the recruitment process in railways, Union Minister for Railways and Coal, Piyush Goyal said that the candidate can use any language for signature and also for writing exams.
After sparking much controversy and outrage over the exclusion of Malayalam in its group D recruitment exam, the Railways have reversed its decision and have decided to include the language once again. Siting this matter the Railway Minister further said that language will not be a barrier during the recruitment test and the candidates can use any vernacular language to write the exam.
Moreover regarding the examination fee, the Railway Minister said that the exempted categories will have to pay Rs 250/- and the amount will be completely refunded after the exam. Whereas for the General category section the amount of fees is Rs 500/- out of which the candidate will be refunded with Rs 400/-
Under this purview of allowing the candidates to use any language to appear in the exam and also about the refundable fee the candidates will be getting back. The Railway has left no stones unturned for the mega recruitment and desires to appoint bright youth talent in their working process.
As railway opened its door for en bloc filling of over 89,000 vacancies in Group C and D of safety category jobs, many speculations raised as to how the process will take place. It was said that youths with a minimum qualification of Xth Class pass plus holding Industrial Training Institute certificates or equivalent can apply.
The hired employees will be extended a monthly salary of Rs 18,000 per month and allowances. The criteria are that the applicants should be 18-31 years of age will be recruited by the Railway Recruitment Cell. Apart from this for the group D post, there are almost 26,502 vacancies under group C for the post of technicians and assistant loco pilots. As on April 2017, the Group D and C vacancies in Railways stood at 1,24,201.
