New Delhi, February 27: Aadhaar has introduced blue ‘Baal Aadhaar’ card for children under 5 years of age. UIDAI has tweeted this information as Aadhaar has become as the important document of the benefits and identification of all government facilities.
In order to create the Aadhaar card for children under 5 years old, a child's birth certificate and any of the parent’s Aadhaar number will be required. There will be no need for biometric details to make a card for children under the age of 5 years.
However, after the completion of 5 years of age, the child's biometric details will need to be updated. This work can be done for free at any close Aadhaar center. If you do not update your child's biometric details for 7 years then the card will be suspended.
After this, at the age of 15, you will have to update the biometric details for the second and the last. Baal Aadhaar will be necessary to achieve child education and scholarship abroad. It is worth mentioning that the Aadhaar card has been made compulsory for all the necessary tasks including taking a new SIM card and opening a bank account.
