For the first time reacting to the criticism which surfed after the historic announcement about his political plunge on December 31, Rajani slammed politicians and detractor for questioning the intentions of creative people entering into the politics. In a strong rebuttal, the matinee idol underlined that if politicians had done their job properly, he would have dropped the idea of joining politics. He maintained that film industry veterans are fully aware of political games. He asked the political class to refrain from making fun of film fraternity.
Commenting on the socio-political condition of the coastal state after the demise of former Chief Minister J Jayalalitha, the Superstar assured that he would fill the political vacuum by providing strong and clean leadership. Elaborating on the term spiritual politics, the veteran actor clarified that spiritual politics connotes the spirit of clean politics without the ugly shades and divisive elements of caste and religion based rhetoric.
Recounting the days of MGR, Rajani underlined the pro-people schemes ventured by MGR’s government which took care of the weaker section of the society. He asserted that he would try to emulate the teachings of the great leader. On this occasion, he urged youngster and intellectuals to contribute for the betterment of Tamil Nadu.
