PM Modi shakes hand and holds bilateral discussions with Swedish counterpart

Stockholm, April 17: On his first leg to the three nations visit, PM Modi shook hands with Sweden PM Stefan Lofven and Sweden King Carl XVI Gustaf and Crown Princess Victoria. PM Modi held crucial bilateral discussions with his Swedish counterpart.

The two leaders had a productive exchange of views on bilateral and regional issues. They took a short walk together from the Soger House to Rosenbad after holding the discussion.

Modi also called on Sweden King Carl XVI Gustaf. They exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation across several sectors.

Modi will hold a series of bilateral meetings with the counterparts of other Nordic countries- Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Norway and all the leaders will take part in the first ever India Nordic summit, being co-hosted by India and Sweden.

The discussions will mainly focus on innovative technologies especially relating to Smart Cities, renewable energy, growth, trade, investment and climate change. With India keen on building closer relations with Nordic countries with pan-Nordic view, the summit is likely to witness some significant outcomes.

The Prime Minister will address the Swedish Business leaders and the Indian community today before leaving for London.
