New Delhi, April 26: ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world’. Aptly inculcated by the Indian Railways, the department and officials have undoubtedly being taking efforts to bring p[ositive changes. Revamping the exterior coaches, Ministry of Railways is considering modifying the exterior color scheme of ICF design conventional coaches running in Mail & Express trains to give them more vibrant and pleasing look.

Abiding to the directions of the Railway Board, Northern Railway has painted the ICF design sleeper coaches with 7 different color schemes. These vibrant and innovative color schemes were developed, jointly by National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad and Railways.

The Railway Minister Piyush Goyal along with Railway Board Chairman Ashwin Lohani and Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore inspected the new renovated painted coaches. After the inspection it was decided that the new colour scheme will inherit only one colour scheme with a mix of fawn and teak shade after some improvements. At the beginning this one colour scheme will be implemented only on limited number of coaches as a trial and based on the feedback it will be proliferated on large number of ICF design coaches.

Indian Railways is already taking measures to upgrade the interiors of coaches especially toilets through schemes like Upgrade to Swarn Standard for its premium service like Rajdhanis and Shatabdis, Upgrade of Mail & Express trains through ‘Utkrishti Scheme’.

This new colour scheme would be like an added advantage and would give the audience a complete different makeover.
