Raipur, May 1: Chhattisgarh has been gifted with Antyodaya Express, a fully unreserved, well-equipped weekly train between Durg and Firozpur Cantt was today flagged off by the Chief Minister Raman Singh and MoS for Railways Ranjan Gohain.
On the first day, the train began its service from Raipur, the state capital of Chhattisgarh. The train is equipped with modern coaches, RO drinking water, mobile charging facilities, bio-toilets, LED lights and other facilities.
The ticket fare from New Delhi to Raipur is Rs. 350 and Rs. 425 for Ferozepur. Despite low fares, the speed of this superfast has been kept equal to the Rajdhani Express. It will reach Delhi in just 20 hours.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ranjan Gohain said the Modi government at the Centre has initiated a series of steps for the poor by providing them better facilities. Chief Minister Raman Singh thanked PM Narendra Modi and Railway Ministry for the new train service.
This is the first train to reach such distance of the state, in which rent is kept so low. The tickets will be available from the ticket station's general ticket counter. After this, Antyodaya tickets will be available through ATVM and mobile ticketing. There will be no single reserved coach in this train, so anyone can travel through this train.
