3 PARA regiment of Indian Army eliminates one terrorist in Kupwara district

Srinagar, July 13: The Indian Army on Thursday killed one terrorist after a fierce encounter that took place at Kandi forest area in North Kashmir's Kupwara district. The body of slain terrorist along with arms and ammunition including an AK-47 rifle was recovered from the encounter site.

 

Notably, the 3 PARA regiment of Indian Army after noticing a suspected movement of a terrorist at Kandi forest area in North Kashmir's Kupwara district asked to stop. But the terrorist fired upon the team of Indian Army which led into a heavy gunfight. Immediately Army personnel retaliated heavily and eliminated him.


Unfortunately, an army commando Sepoy Mukul Meena of 3 PARA regiment was martyred and another soldier suffered injuries in a gunfight in the area. On Monday, the Indian Army personnel cordoned off the forest area of Handwara area of Kupwara district and eliminated one terrorist.

On Friday last week, Indian Army busted an arms dump in a forest area in Poonch district and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition including 11 IEDs. Also, a Pakistani currency valuing Rs 16,500, a compass, two map sheets, a bayonet, seven communication sets, a code sign and some other items were recovered during the search operation.
