Speaking to the media here, the Chief Minister claimed that all parties in the state have supported the demand for special status for Bihar.
Referring to the socio-economic indicators of Bihar, Kumar stated that special status is the legitimate right of people of Bihar and hence center must consider the long pending demand.
When asked about the 14th Finance Commission’s take on Bihar, the Chief Minister stated that appropriate facts will be put forth before the 15th Finance Commission. Earlier, 14th Finance Commission had declined the special status for the eastern state.
Citing the example of frequent natural disasters faced by Bihar, the JD(U) National President maintained that special status for Bihar would address the contentious issues faced by the state government.
On the issues of seat sharing, Nitish said that leaders from both the parties will take the final call on 2019 poll equation.
