Ready for peaceful talks : Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis to pro-Maratha groups

Mumbai, July 25: Days after the violent protest of pro-Maratha Outfits, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured that the state government is ready to discuss all the issues pertaining to the welfare of Maratha Community.

In an official statement, the Chief Minister appealed Pro-Maratha activists to maintain the law and order in the state. “The state government has taken cognizance of the ongoing protest and appropriate steps within the frame of the constitution,” he mentioned.

Recalling various policy decisions, Fadnavis mentioned that said that the state government is quite serious about the problems faced by the Maratha community.

Commenting on the legal battle, the Chief Minister underlined that state government had crafted a law for reservation but that was stayed by the Bombay High Count. On this occasion, Fadnavis expressed concern over the unruly violent incidences in the state.

Taking a pot-shot on opposition parties, Fadnavis said that some anti-social elements along with political leaders are intentionally misleading people for pity electoral gains.

Maratha outfits are staging a state-wide protest on the demand of 16% reservation in jobs and education.
