Thousands along with National, world leaders bid final farewell to JanaNeta #AtalBihariVajpayee at Rajghat

New Delhi, August 17: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s demise has not only saddened the country but also the whole world. The world leaders, National leaders and the common people paid heartfelt tribute to their most loved politician through all means. Thousands of people along with PM Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah, the entire Union Cabinet, BJP Karyakartas and leaders of other political parties joined the final procession of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

 

Thousands of people flooded on the roads Delhi to give a final farewell to former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The funeral began from BJP headquarter and ended at Smriti Sthal, Rajghat. There was a massive deployment of police and paramilitary personnel along the entire procession route.

President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Lok Sabha Chairperson Sumitra Mahajan paid floral tributes to Atal ji. Indian Ministers including PM Modi, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and others paid floral tributes to Atal ji.

While Bhutan's King Jigme Wangchuk, Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal Pradeep Kumar Gyawali and Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Lakshman Kiriella also paid floral tributes to former PM. Other dignitaries including Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Chief Minister of various states were also present on the occasion.

The State honour was given to the mortal remains of Atal Bihari Vajpayee by chief of all three security forces i.e Indian Army, Navy and Air force. After all the process, the final rites of Atalji was done with all rituals by his adopted daughter Namita Bhattacharya. 

 

On Thursday, AIIMS issued a Press Release informing that the Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away at 05:05 pm. The central government has declared a half-day holiday today while some states have declared a full-day holiday in view of Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s death. A seven-day state mourning has been announced by the Centre and the national flag would fly at half-mast from today for seven days across India.
