Gandhinagar, August 22: Taking a massive step in a bid to provide relief to the industries, real estate and other sectors and also to earn more revenue, the Gujarat Government introduced an online system for getting non-agriculture (NA) certificate.
Notably, the revenue department issued a government resolution (GR) in regards to the online process of NA certificate. The department in resolution said, “The state government has also made it mandatory to apply for NA certification online and has put an onus on district officials to check the land records online, instead of demanding them from the applicants.”
The step will lead to ease in the process of a non-agriculture certificate, eradication in corruption and reduction in time consumption. Earlier, applications were taking two-three years to get the final NA approval. Under the new process, even for a non-agriculture purpose, the applicants will not be required to get documents verified by multiple departments.
Importantly, the move has come as a major relief for the industry, real estate and other sectors. In the year 2016, the Gujarat government announced that all land areas covered under the approved town planning schemes will be considered as non-agricultural.
