New Delhi, August 22: Manchester United supporters in India are set to be offered a range of co-branded credit and debit cards. Manchester United has announced a multi-year tie-up with ICICI Bank in India to offer fans a range of co-branded credit and debit cards. With this ICICIBank becomes the first bank in India to launch #ManchesterUnited branded credit cards in the country.
The 35 million-strong supporters of the English Premier League club in India will be offered two types of credit cards - the Manchester United Platinum Credit Card and Manchester United Signature Credit Card by ICICI Bank. Debit cards will be made available by the bank shortly.
Manchester United group managing director Richard Arnold said: “The club has enjoyed numerous visits to India over the past few seasons, with our #ILOVEUNITED fan event held in Mumbai in January, attracting almost 5,000 fans to the live match screening.
“Our partnership with ICICI Bank means we can continue to engage and communicate with these loyal fans whilst offering them quality financial products from one of India’s most reputable banking groups.”
Each card comes with competitive rates and exclusive privileges and discounts on merchandise from the Manchester United online store and its affiliated partners in the country. Top spenders also stand the chance to experience fully paid trips to Old Trafford to watch a game and a first team training session and receive signed merchandise.
