New Delhi, Aug 29: Muslims, Christians and Buddhists organizations and groups paid homage to the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister of India who passed away on August 16, 2018 at the ripe age of 93.
The programs organised under the auspices of Muslim Rashtriya Manch, Isaai Manch, and various Buddhist organizations including the Himalayan Buddhist Association, Bharat-Tibbat Sahyog Manch, Tibetan Refugee Society, Himalaya Parivar, Nepali Sanskriti Parishad, Dharma Sanskriti Sangam and other Buddhist organisations were attended largely by the members of these communities.
Indresh Kumar, senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader, and patron of all these organizations was the prominent speaker. He said that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee raised the position and ranking of India in the entire world during his tenure.
He was addressing massive gatherings of Muslims, Christians and Buddhists gathered from all over the country at NDMC Convention Centre in New Delhi on August 27 and 28, 2018 to pay homage to the departed Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Senior office-bearers of MRM including Latif Magdum from Maharashtra, Badruddin Halani, Mir Khan Mutwa, Chhatarsingh Darbar from Gujarat, Adv Mustafa Khan from MP, Yasir Jilani, Hafeez Sabreen, Shahnaz Afzal and others from Delhi, and other states were also prominently present.
Former Minister in Tibetan Government (in exile) Gary Dolma, Bharat-Tibet Sahyog Manch National General Secretary Pankaj Goyal, Himalaya Pariwar National General Secretary Bhupinder Kansal and scores of people belonging to different sects of Buddhism participated in the program and paid homage to Vajpayee.
Among the prominent Christians from Delhi and neighbourhood Bishop Reverend K Alisha, Pastor Richmond, Pastor Emanuel and members of Delhi Telugu Christian Welfare Association, Delhi Pastors’ Welfare Association were also present at the meeting held in the evening at the same place on Monday.
He said that late Vajpayee did not discriminate between the citizens of the country and always held that Hindus and Muslims are the equal partners in development of the nation.
Uttarakhand Minister Satpal Maharaj said that following Atalji's footsteps would be the proper tribute to the departed leader. Mahabharat Serial fame actor Gajendra Chauhan, MRM National Convener Mohd Afzal, Dr Shahid Akhtar, Abu Bakar Naqvi, Dr Mohd Shabbir, Dr Kidwai, Dr Tahir Hussain, MRM Organising Convener Girish Juyal and others spoke on the occasion paying tributes to the departed leader.
The condolence message received from Delhi Arch Bishop Anil Thomas Couto was read in the meeting. Sonia Sinha, Vice President-BJP Pradesh Committee, Delhi, Anitha Benjamin, President, Rashtriya Isai Mahasangh, Delhi and Lal from Ahmedabad University have expressed their heartfelt feelings and experiences they had with the veteran leader.
Word of GOD has been delivered by Rev. K. Elisha from Delhi Telugu Pastors’ Welfare Association followed by closing prayer and benediction. At the end of Word of GOD, congregation held the candles in the dark as a token of homage to the beloved leader Atalji and paid tributes with flowers.
Many Buddhist organisations under the guidance of respected Indresh Kumar paid tributes to former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee on 28th August at NDMC Convention Centre, New Delhi.
