Mahabalipuram, October 11: Showing India's civilizational heritage, India in its historical monuments depicts the ability to live in harmony with nature. Visiting the 1300 years old historical monuments in Mamallapuram, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chinese president Xi Jinping take a tour of Arjuna’s Penance in Mahabalipuram. Not only that, Modi also shows Xi Jinping the monuments of Mamallapuram describing the ancient history attached to it.

The visuals clearly portray the bond shared by PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping, as they pose for a photo at the round boulder known as Krishna’s Butter Ball in Mahabalipuram. Opting for the UNESCO heritage, Prime Minister Modi and Xi Jinping visit the iconic monument which incorporate group of sanctuaries, founded by the Pallava kings, was carved out of rock along the Coromandel coast in the 7th and 8th centuries.

 

PM Modi and Xi Jinping now at Panch Rathas in Mahabalipuram will witness a cultural programme at the Shore temple complex followed by a dinner hosted by Modi. The pictures coming across show the two leaders relishing the moment with the most famous coconut drink.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday gave Chinese President Xi Jinping a temple tour around Mahabalipuram. Modi first received Xi at Arjuna's Penance, before taking him around the Panch Rathas and then the Shore Temple. Earlier in the day, Xi touched down in Chennai for the two-day informal summit with Modi and received a grand cultural welcome with traditional dance performances at the airport. Both the state and the central government agencies have made all-out efforts to deck up the coastal town that had strong historical linkages with China's Fujian province.
