Revamping postures, BCCI sets to chair Ganguly as President, Brijesh Patel as IPL chairman and Jay Shah as Secretary

New Delhi, October 14: Pipped into a see saw battle, while Saurav Ganguly is set to take over the presidential chair of Board of Control for Cricket in India, he being the only nominee, MHA Amit Shah's son Jay Shah is set to become the secretary and Anurag Thakur's brother Arun Dhumal will hold the position of treasurer BCCI.

 
 
The said decisions were made in a meeting that was conducted last night between the compliant members in Mumbai. "We have decided that Ganguly will be the new President", the meeting confirmed adding that Brijesh Patel would take over as IPL chairman newly.
 
“My first priority will be to look after first-class cricketers. I had requested to the CoA and they have not listened. Ranji Trophy cricket will be the focus. To take care of cricketers’ financial interest,” the former India skipper said centering the focus abide. He further stated that he is happy with the appointment and plans to do something big for Indian cricket.
 
“I am happy with the appointment because this is the time when BCCI’s image has got hampered and it’s a great opportunity for me to do something. Whether you are elected unopposed or otherwise, it’s a big responsibility because it is the biggest organization in the world of cricket. India is a powerhouse. It will be a challenge", he added.
 
The Board of Control for Cricket in India is the national governing body for cricket in India. The board was formed in December 1928 as a society, registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act. Its headquarters being in Mumbai, currently the presidential chair is held by C K Khanna.
