Thiruvananthapuram, October 13: Where India shows its pride in being a ‘secular’ nation, there are some states where this secularism has gone at a stake. As known as God’s own country ‘Kerala’ has outgone on becoming a state where forceful conversion from being a Hindu to a Christian is on a rise. The unethical activities of religious conversion in Kerala has not even spared job vacancies. In a latest, the state has got an extra ordinary gazette from notifying job vacancy which is ‘RESERVED FOR CONVERTS to CHRISTIAN’.

The gazette released by the Kerala state read as, “Applications are invited through One Time Registration Scheme by Online from qualified candidates belonging to Reservation Group of community in Kerala mentioned below for selection to the undermentioned post in Kerala Government Service.” The Kerala government issued the gazette for the Health Service department for the post of ‘Assistant Surgeon/ Casualty Medical Officer’. The post details were released in the month of July.

Pulling in religious conversion in a category where merits and intellectual intelligence of an individual is mandate, the state has stooped down low by initiating such gazettes. For a state like Kerala with high literacy rate, such instance coming from government is a shame on its bureaucracy. Have you ever seen any government which has sponsored religious conversion as its policy? Pitching in for secularism, the state has shamed itself after initialising such illogical and insane tricks.

Manipulating the faith of people, instigating superstitious beliefs and forcing people particularly ‘Hindus’ to convert into Christians has been on a rise since a long time. They have been luring people to accept Christianity in lieu of the services like education, healthcare and other services. There have been instances where the innocent people have been targeted for converting their religious against their own will.
