New Delhi, October 14: Ahead of the anticipation of the politically influenced case of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the Supreme Court has moved up to resume after Dussehra holidays. This is a day after the Court imposed section 144 in Ayodhya till December 10, probably in consideration of the upcoming festivals.

Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) of 1973 authorises the Executive Magistrate of any state or territory to issue an order to prohibit the assembly of four or more people in an area. According to the law, every member of such 'unlawful assembly' can be booked for engaging in rioting. Prohibiting public gatherings, Sec 144 is imposed in urgent cases of nuisance or apprehended danger of some event that has the potential to cause trouble or damage to human life or property.

As the case enters in the final leg, RSS leader Indresh Kumar said that he believed that building Ram Mandir would be a matter of triumph for 130 crore Indians. "Building Ram Mandir is not a matter of victory or defeat for anyone, rather it will be a victory for 130 crore people of India", he said.

"Ram is also Imam-e-Hind, and Ram is also a form of Khuda, that is why people say that Ram is Khuda and Khuda is Ram. He is one of the best Nabi of the world and we should keep one thing in our minds that insulting the Nabi of any other religion and insulting their place is inhuman, immoral and a kind of violence", Kumar added.

While the Supreme Court is set to wrap up arguments in the case by October 17 and deliver a verdict soon after, the judgment in the matter is to be pronounced by November 17, the day the Chief Justice of India will demit the office. The apex court had on August 6 commenced day-to-day proceedings in the case as the mediation proceedings initiated to find the amicable resolution had failed.
