Improving transparency in subsidy system, Housing Minister launches CLSS Awas Portal

New Delhi, November 25: Aiming at more transparent subsidy service, Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri today launched Credit-linked Subsidy Services Awas Portal, CLAP, in New Delhi.
 
 
The portal provides a transparent and robust real-time web-based monitoring system for credit-linked Subsidy Services, CLSS, beneficiaries. Using the portal, a beneficiary can track his application status in real-time.
Hardeep Singh Puri expressed confidence that CLAP will be quite instrumental in addressing the grievances of beneficiaries in a much comprehensive and organized manner. He said the initiative would also benefit other stakeholders to work in synergy to release subsidy to beneficiaries on time.
PMAY Urban aims to provide affordable housing to the urban poor by 2022. One of the verticals under the PM Awas Yojana mission is Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme. CLSS covers eligible beneficiaries under EWS, LIG, MIG categories to avail benefit of interest subsidy on home loan. The upfront interest subsidy under CLSS component of PM Awas Yojana Urban ranges from 3% to 6.5%
