New Delhi, Nov 9: The Vishwa Hindu Parisahd (VHP) one of the pioneers of Sri Ram Janmasthan Movement in the country has described the Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya dispute as ‘victory of truth and justice’.

Addressing a press conderence here on Saturday afternoon VHP Working President Alok Kumar said that the day of judgement is moment of great rejoicing, satisfaction and fulfilment as the verdict came after 491 years of struggles, numerous battles and innumerable sacrifices for the cause of temple at Sri Ram Janmabhumi in Ayodhya heralding the victory of truth and justice.

Kumar said that this verdict, given after a marathon hearing of 40 days and 200 plus hours and without being distracted by a range of obstacles, is one of the greatest judicial verdicts of the world. The global Hindu society forming one-sixth of the world population of near seven billion, had been anxiously waiting for this verdict for nearly seven dacades through all judicial processes at all levels. At the end of the day their wait fructified and justice has prevailed, Kumar said expressing gratitude to the Supreme Court.

Kumar further said that though this verdict has been a matter of immense joy and celebration for the Hindus, the Hindus have to live in a ‘maryada’ (limit) so that this expression of joy cannot become aggressive. This justice is not a defeat of someone and victory of some other. There should not be anything that offends or humiliates anyone, the VHP leader cautioned appealing for harmony, warmth and cordial relations within the ‘Bharatiya society’.

Alok Kumar further said that today is also a day of expressing gratitude and thanks giving. The first gratitude goes to those known and unknown Hindus who participated in these century-old struggles, suffered immensely and made supreme sacrifices.

He specially thanked the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) whose untiring efforts and unquestionable technical expertise enabled the apex court judges to arrive at this important unanimous verdict. He also thanked all the historians and experts whose irrefutable evidence formed the basis of this decision. He also congratulated the senior jurists and advocates whose untiring diligence has brought justice to the Hindu society.

Kumar hoped that the Central Government will now expeditiously take further steps as directed by the Supreme Court towards facilitating construction of a grand Sri Ram Temple at Ayodhya.

Describing that this important verdict as significant and decisive step towards the construction of a grand temple of Sri Rama; Alok Kumar expressed hope that this grand temple will now be built at the earliest. As this temple rises it will inculcate the respect and maryadas, build an organised and harmonious Hindu society, endeavouring to inculcate Hindu values in the personal lives and thus will be able to fulfil its obligations to ensuyre peace and harmony in the world, he said.
