Joint efforts pay off! India exports first batch of Ashok Leyland vehicles to Ivory Coast

Katiola, December 7: India has imported first batch of Ashok Leyland Vehicles to Ivory Coast. Yesterday the first batch of the vehicles was handed over to the local government and farmers in Katiola Hambol region of the Ivory Coast.

This is an outcome of joint efforts between Indian Embassy to Ivory Coast and Heavy vehicles manufacturer Ashok Leyland. The vehicles are imported under India-Ivory Coast bilateral co-operation. 
 
Few days back, Ashok Leyland opened its West African headquarters in Abidjan, and unveiled four products for the market. With a partnership with the Ivory Coast government, Ashok Leyland is looking to develop a central automotive hub for West Africa in the country, said a statement from the company.
 
 
 
The company has also rolled out four left-hand drive models that include the Captain range of tippers, Boss range of trucks and two bus ranges - Hawk and Mitr.
 
Ashok Leyland had received an order worth $200 million from the Ministry of Transport in Ivory Coast. A total of 3,600 vehicles had been ordered and will be delivered to several customers.
