One for the annadata’s! Assam empowers farmers by extending financial support through various schemes

Guwahati, February 14: Empowering the one who give us the energy to live, owing the ‘annadata’ what they truly deserve. The Assam state government has introduced a slew of schemes to empower the farmers. In the same context, the state launched Mukhya Mantri Krishi Sa Sajuli Yojna for farmers in the state. It is a Chief Minister Farm Tool Scheme to provide financial assistance to purchase farm tools.

The scheme launched by the Assasm CM Sarbananda Sonowal will help the farmers in purchasing the tools used for farming purpose. Each of the beneficiary will be given Rs. 5,000 for the purchase of farm equipments & tools. The scheme is meant for the small & marginal farmers of the state.

 

The primary objective of the scheme is to make sure that the farmers has farm tools to perform agricultural activities. There are 33 crore agricultural families in Assam & the state government has allocated the budget of 33 crores for the scheme.

 

The scheme is applicable only to those farmers in Assam who have small and marginal area of farming. The amount will be transferred to the bank account of the farmers applying for the scheme. Total 12,344 small & marginal families are selected as beneficiaries of the scheme. A 10 member district selection committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner is formed for the selection of farmers. The Assam government has identified 5 lakh farmers in the state who are potential beneficiaries of the scheme.

Narendra Modi led government has introduced various schemes that benefit the farmers and have made the farmers empower themselves completely. This initiative by the government will be a support and a helping hand to the farmers in growing ahead in future securing their family and income.
