Aero India fire mishap: B S Yeddyurappa blames Karnataka govt for poor management

Bengaluru, Feb 25: Days after the massive fire accident which gutted 300 cars at the parking area of Aero India show in the state capital, former Chief Minister and state BJP Chief B.S. Yeddyurappa said that fire mishap during Aero India show indicates the poor state of governance.

Speaking to the media, the former Chief Minister blamed Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy for poor management and inadequate security major. He even alleged that fire tenders were not available when the unfortunate incidence took place.

“State government was supposed to look after the security arrangements and issues like parking, traffic whereas defence ministry was responsible for holding the Aero show inside the air base, ” claimed Yeddyurappa. The state BJP Chief demanded that a high-level probe panel should be constituted to fix the charges and stern action should be taken against concern officials.  

On Saturday, a major fire broke out in the car parking of Aero India show where almost 300 vehicles were gutted. On Sunday, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman visited Yelahanka Air Force Station and took the stock of the situation.
