Future generations will remember the clean Ganga movement as a red-letter event. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said in an event of Clean Ganga Mission in New Delhi today. Namami Gange umbrella initiative integrates previous & ongoing efforts with the aim of pollution abatement, conservation & rejuvenation of Maa Ganga & its tributaries. He also requested everyone to get strongly associated with this mission and take up more projects either on their own or in association with @cleanganganmcg or contribute directly to the Clean Ganga Fund.


He further expressed that, he is happy to note that so far a fund of about ₹270 Crore has been received in Clean Ganga Fund & projects exceeding ₹200 Crore are already under implementation. Petroleum companies are also exploring the possibility of bottling of gas generated during sewage treatment.

The modern technology like bio and phytoremediation has been taken up to tap Nalas. This is first of its kind in India said Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. After receiving the grant, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said, nearly 40 Ganga tributaries will be cleaned.
