March 30: Remember the beautifully patriotic composition read by Prime Minister Narendra Modi few days back? Recently, he used one of the verses of poetry 'Saugand me this soil' in one of his speeches. Now dedicating it to the soldiers, Music Maestro Lata Mangeshkar has recorded these beautiful lines in her voice.
Sharing it on her twitter handle, Lata Didi explained in the video, “I was listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech some days ago. He had some lines of a poem somewhere that he actually talked about the mind of every Indian; that poem touched my mind too, I recorded it and today the brave soldiers of the country and People wish to devote”.
PM Modi also lauded Lata Mangeshkar for giving voice to the poem. He replied, “Your affection and blessings came out in the form of this song from the depths of the heart, is a source of inspiration for me”.
Modi had read this poem during a meeting in Churu, Rajasthan after the air strikes of Air Force in Balakot, Pakistan. The poem is written by lyricist Prasoon Joshi. In the opening lines of Theme Song, Modi has given voice in it.
During his speech, PM Modi had said, “I repeat my words of 2014, bowing down to the heroes of Mother India, I am repeating again today”. He had received a lot of applause on these lines. The BJP has also made this poem a song of election campaign.
Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar, who recently had said that she would be singing till her last breath, was clearly serious then! The magic in Lata Didi’s voice has never faded away in India. Even at the age of 89, she has been successful in capturing the beauty of the words in her delightfully magical voice.
