New Delhi, March 9: In its quest to work against terrorism, India has taken a forefront demanding action against terror groups responsible for cross-border terrorism from Pakistan. Addressing a media briefing MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said Islamabad should move beyond words and should take concrete action against terrorists and terrorism emanating from its soil.
“If Pakistan claims to be 'Naya Pakistan' with 'nayi soch' then it should show 'naya action' against terrorist groups,” said Kumar. India also urged Pakistan to release the video recording of the downing of a second Indian aircraft to support its claims. “Why have they not shared the video with international media?” questioned Kumar.
Reiterating India’s stand Kumar said that there are eyewitness accounts and electronic evidence that Pakistan had deployed F-16 aircraft and that one F-16 was shot down by Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman’s MiG 21 Bison.
He further added that India has asked the USA to examine whether the use of F-16 against India is in accordance with terms and conditions of sale.
Raveesh Kumar also slammed Pakistan for denying Jaish-e-Mohammed's claim of taking ownership of Pulwama attack and added that there seems to be some confusion in Pakistan regarding this as Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had said that JeM had not claimed responsibility of the attack. “Is Pakistan defending JeM?” he questioned.
On Kartarpur corridor issue and arrival of Pakistani officials for March 14 meeting to finalise the process for the opening of the corridor, Kumar said that holding talks doesn't mean a resumption of bilateral ties and added that this is related to the emotions and sentiments of Indian citizens of Sikh faith.
